Mission - To improve access to and delivery of addiction, treatment and prevention programs in Tucson and Pima County and to work in partnership with city and county governments to reduce the social, financial, and health consequences of addiction and other substance use disorders.

Prevention, Treatment, Education - The Commission provides advice and recommendations with respect to the social, financial and health consequence of addiction in Pima County. The Commission’s primary goal is to create a functional system that reduces substance abuse in our community. Objectives include completion of an in-depth needs assessment, implementation of best practices, the development of policies, and an annual report card on strategies.

About the Commission - Membership was ratified by the Tucson Mayor and Council and the Pima County Board of Supervisors on October 22, 2001. The Commission has 26 members, representing business, government, education, healthcare, citizens in recovery, and prevention providers across the diverse population of Pima County. Meetings are generally held on the first Thursday of every month from 12:00-1:30 p.m. (see Community Events page for details) ALL MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ARE WELCOME to attend.
